The competence of the apparatus of the Civil Service Police Unit of Takalar Regency
Abstract
Competence requires a change from managing people based on what a person has (for example qualifications) to what a person can do (ability). The aim of this study was to determine the competence of the apparatus of the Takalar District Civil Service Police Unit. This study used survey research using a quantitative approach with an explanative objective, namely to explain causal relationships and test hypotheses. The population of this study were all employees (organic) at the Office of the Civil Service Police Unit of the Takalar Regency, totaling 71 people, consisting of; group IV as many as 5 people, group III as many as 40 people, group II as many as 24 people and group I as many as 2 people. Thus the number of samples in this study was 71 people. Data collection techniques used in this study were using questionnaires, observation and documentation. Data collection techniques used in this study were to use questionnaires, observation and documentation. The results showed that the average competence of the police officers of the Civil Service Police Unit of Takalar Regency was 97.48 with a percentage of 68%. To the officers of the Civil Service Police Unit to continue to strive to improve competence in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
