Analysis of the Implementation of Duties and Functions of the Mamuju Regional Representative Council
Abstract
The spirit of reform, with all its implications, has led us to a hopeful discourse, namely a state system and government that is more democratic and transparent and accountable in the future. The phenomenon of the implementation of development policies in the regions is often not in accordance with the aspirations of the community, where the DPRD as a people's representative institution which is expected to absorb the aspirations of the people to be accommodated in the formulation of development policies can be said to have not run optimally. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of the duties and functions of the members of the local legislature in Mamuju Regency. The research method uses qualitative data. The informants in this study included community leaders, NGOs, political figures of Mamuju government officials, namely: WaliMamuju, Heads of Services, Agencies and Offices within the Mamuju regional government as well as leaders of political parties participating in the 2009 election who received votes. at the Mamuju DPRD. Data collection techniques are observation, documents and interviews. The performance of members of the Mamuju DPRD has not yet achieved optimal results, especially in the effort to increase the effectiveness of the supervisory function on the performance of the Mamuju regional government.
