Local Innovation Development Initiative: Case Study of Maros Regency
Abstract
This study aims to assess the effectiveness of democracy volunteers in Kabupaten Majene in performing their duties and to understand the role of authority flow and discretion in this context. The research methods include qualitative analysis of the selection, training, and resource distribution processes of democracy volunteers. The findings indicate that although volunteers have formal authority from KPUD Kabupaten Majene, challenges in managing discretion and lack of public enthusiasm hinder their effectiveness. This study highlights the importance of appropriate communication strategies and prudent discretion management to enhance political participation and local democracy
