Gambaran Kadar Iodium Dalam Urin Pada Wanita Usia Subur (Wus) Dengan Hipotiroid di Desa Kaligintung Kecamatan Pituruh Kabupaten Purworejo, Jawa Tengah

Hypothyroidism is a disease caused by a lack of iodine intake. Women of childbearing age (WUS) with hypothyroidism are at risk of developing neurological, mental, physical, and psychological developmental disorders. This type of research uses a descriptive design that aims to describe the iodine level in urine in WUS with hypothyroidism in Kaligintung Village, Pituruh Subdistrict, Purworejo Regency, Central Java. The population in this study were all WUS who experienced hypothyroidism, as many as 41 people. The number of samples studied were 41 people using total sampling techniques. The results showed that the average value of iodine in urine in WUS with hypothyroidism was 88 µg / L. It can be concluded that iodine intake in WUS with hypothyroidism in Kaligintung Village, Pituruh Subdistrict, Purworejo Regency, Central Java is in the poor category and is in a mild iodine deficiency status. It is necessary to educate WUS about the importance of iodine and recommend WUS to increase the consumption of food types as a source of iodine.
